Billy Owens has been the backbone of Paddock FC for over 30 years and now all that experience will be put to the test when his beloved side compete for a place in The FA Sunday Cup Final.
However, Owens cannot take all the credit as he knows that this achievement has been down to the hard work and determination of the whole team.
Owens said: "Getting to the Semi-Final of a national Cup is just a dream come true for a local side like ours. It has been a great effort from all the lads and the amount of hard work they have put in this season has been amazing."
Despite Paddock's excellent cup run, Owens knows it's going to be tough to overcome their opponents, Sunday Comets, as it has already been a very long season.
"The games have just been piling up," said the Paddock manager. "So far we have only played eight league games because there have been so many cup games to play.
"We have been in three cup competitions and because we have been doing well in all of them we seem to keep playing more cup ties."
With Paddock in high spirits, the team are confident of securing their place in The Final, however, whatever the outcome Owens is proud of his side no matter what.
He added: "This has been an amazing and rich experience for us. I'm so proud of everyone involved this season. I have had this group of lads now for over seven years and the way they have played together just reminds me why I have been doing this job for so long.
"This team just represents everything that is good with our community. Without the continuing support of everyone around us we wouldn't have lasted as long as we have. It's a credit to football."
