Helvecia celebrate becoming the first ever FA National Futsal League champions last year

The FA National Futsal League enters its second season.
The FA National Futsal League for 2009 is underway, with London-based Helvecia no doubt hoping to repeat their feat of becoming national champions in last year's inaugural tournament.They are again competing in the Southern League, where they will come up against regular contenders such as FC White Bear USSR, Corinthians and Vaughan's FC. Having completed a domestic double by also winning The FA Futsal Cup, Helvecia will no doubt be confident of progressing from their region into the national finals next October, which will see successful representatives from the Northern and Midlands league meet to decide the Champions, who will go on to represent England in the UEFA Futsal Cup.In the Midlands League, teams to watch out for include Tranmere Victoria and the Birmingham Tigers whilst the Northern League contains sides such as Manchester Futsal Club and Loughborough University who have both challenged for honours in recent years.The teams involved in The FA Futsal League this year are as follows:-The FA Regional League South Administered by The Amateur Football AllianceDeportivo QM FC, FC Baltic, FC Enfield, FCF Corinthians Futsal Club, FC White Bear - USSR, Genesis FC, Helvecia Futsal, Kickers Futsal, Vaughans Futsal Club.The FA Regional League North Administered by Sheffield & Hallamshire County Football AssociationFC Barsa, Grimsby YMCA, Loughborough University, Manchester Futsal Club, Middlesbrough Futsal Club, Sheffield & Hallamshire CFA FC, Sheffield FC.The FA Regional League MidlandsAdministered by Shropshire County Football AssociationBirmingham Tigers, FC Hartbury, Team United Birmingham Futsal Club, Team Bath, The New Saints, Tranmere Victoria.With a couple of games being played each month, the League is already underway in all regions and you can see all of the results and forthcoming fixtures in the FULL TIME section of the site by clicking here.
