Over 8.5 million people saw Saturday's game on ITV and ESPN.
Domestic viewing figures of more than 8.5million were recorded for Saturday’s FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Stoke City at Wembley Stadium.
The 2011 Final of The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON, which was broadcast on ITV and ESPN, recorded a combined peak audience of 8.58m people with an average of 7m.
This was the highest viewing figure The FA Cup Final has achieved under the current ITV deal.
ITV’s coverage averaged 6.68m and peaked at 8.1m, whilst ESPN’s highest audience figure was 476,000 with an average of 412,000.
The last occasion two broadcasters showed The FA Cup Final [ITV and Setanta] was in 2008-09 when Everton played Chelsea and the total peak audience was 7.02m with an average audience of 5.61m.
For The FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Portsmouth in 2009-10, when the sole broadcaster was ITV, the peak total audience was 7.24m.
