The Adobe Women's FA Cup quarter-final is almost upon us with all four ties taking place across this weekend.
Eight teams will become four with Wembley now in sight for our remaining clubs who are one game away from the semi-final.

Manchester United v Sunderland
When and where is the tie taking place?
On Saturday 8 March with a 5.15pm kick-off at Leigh Sports Village, home of Manchester United.

How did both teams reach the quarter-final?
Defending champions Manchester United kicked off their FA Cup campaign with an emphatic 7-0 win over West Bromwich Albion in the fourth round. Rachel Williams took home the match ball after bagging a hat-trick while Melvine Malard, Ella Toone and Celin Bizet got in on the action.

In the fifth round, Marc Skinner’s side ousted another West Midlands outfit from the competition, posting a 6-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers with goals from Elisabeth Terland, Leah Galton, Aoife Mannion, Toone and Mared Griffiths.
As for Sunderland – the lowest ranked team remaining in the competition – their journey to the quarter-finals began in the third round, beating Huddersfield Town 4-0 on home turf.
A 7-1 victory against Exeter City saw the Black Cats book their place in the fifth round. Ellen Jones was at the treble for the visitors while Eleanor Dale went one better and notched four goals.
In the fifth round, Sunderland made the long trip down to the south coast and it was made worth their while, overcoming Portsmouth 2-0 with goals either side of the break from Jenna Dear and Emily Scarr.
Manchester City v Aston Villa

On Sunday 9 March with a 12.30 kick-off at Manchester City’s Joie Stadium.

How did both teams reach the quarter-final?
Manchester City entered the competition in the fourth round proper. Gareth Taylor’s team ran out 3-0 winners over Ipswich Town with goals from Jill Roord, Laura Coombs and Vivianne Miedema.
The fifth round saw City take on league rivals Leicester City, beating the Foxes 3-1 in front of a home crowd, with Leila Ouahabi, Kerolin, and Khadija Shaw all making the score-sheet.
After entering the competition in the fourth round, Aston Villa put in a dominant display against Bristol Rovers with a 9-0 victory seeing them into the next round. Rachel Daly bagged a brace and Gabi Nunes notched a hat-trick while Paula Tomas, Chasity Grant, Kirsty Hanson and Jill Baijings were also among the goals.
And the Villains had to come from behind in the fifth round against Brighton & Hove Albion who they edged out in a 3-2 win with goals from Anna Patten, Daly and Grant.

Arsenal v Liverpool

On Sunday 9 March with a 2.30pm kick-off at Meadow Park in Borehamwood.

How did both teams reach the quarter-final?
Arsenal put in a five-star performance against Bristol City when the Gunners entered the hat in the fourth round. Stina Blackstenius, Frida Maanum and Beth Mead capped off a 5-0 win on home soil.
London City Lionesses stood in their way of a place in the quarter-finals and Arsenal dispatched the Championship side with a 2-0 win as Laia Codina and Blackstenius scored the goals.
The fourth round pitted Liverpool against fellow WSL side West Ham United. The Merseysiders eased into the fifth round, registering a 5-0 win over the Hammers courtesy of Leanne Kiernan, Grace Fisk, Lucy Parry and Sam Kerr.
And Liverpool left it late against Rugby Borough in the last round, needing two late goals from Marie Hobinger and Mia Enderby to secure their place in the last eight.

Chelsea v Crystal Palace

On Sunday 9 March with a 2.30pm kick-off at Chelsea’s Kingsmeadow.

How did both teams reach the quarter-final?
Chelsea’s route to the quarter-final began in the fourth round when the Blues came out on top in a 4-0 victory over Charlton Athletic in the London derby. Mayra Ramirez, Guro Reiten, Aggie Beever-Jones and Niamh Charles were the scorers for the hosts.
Sonia Bompastor’s side found themselves trailing Everton in the fifth round before turning it around to win 4-1 with goals from Catarina Macario, Ramirez, Maika Hamano and Sandy Baltimore to advance to the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, a 6-1 win over Sheffield United got Crystal Palace up and running in the competition this season in the fourth round. Molly-Mae Sharpe, Ashleigh Weerden, Mille Gejl and My Cato all found the back of the net for the Eagles.

The South Londoners faced Newcastle United in the fifth round. Two goals in the final ten minutes of the tie from Weerden and Abbie Larkin helped the Eagles to register a 2-0 win and reach the quarter-finals for the first time in the club's history.
