Hednesford Town booked their place in the Emirates FA Cup First Round with a stunning 3-1 replay victory over Gateshead.

Goals from Jack Bearne, Rob Stevenson and Sion Spence sealed victory over the eight-tier outfit over their National League opponents, who took the lead early on through Owen Oseni.

The eighth-tier side began their FA Cup journey in the Extra Preliminary Round with a 4-1 win over Racing Warwick back in August and will now face Gainsborough Trinity in the First Round.

Gainsborough also came through a replay against higher opposition to reach the First Round, defeating Lincolnshire rivals Boston United 4-0 away from home.

The sides played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the original tie, with a stoppage time strike from Boston’s Pemi Aderoju ensuring the sides would have to do it all again.

But Gainsborough ensured progression in emphatic style at the second time of asking, with Declan Howe scoring twice.

Howe opened the scoring after just three minutes and Lewis Butroid doubled the visitors’ advantage 12 minutes later.

Howe got his second after the break and Fraser Preston added a fourth 10 minutes from time to seal victory for the seventh-tier side over their National League opposition and progress to the First Round for the first time in seven years.

A third National League side also tasted defeat to lower opposition as Brackley Town defeated Hartlepool United 3-1.

The sides played out a 1-1 draw at Victoria Park but Brackley fought back from behind at home to seal a place in the First Round.

Emmanuel Dieseruvwe put Pools ahead from the penalty spot after half an hour but Morgan Roberts got Brackley back on level terms two minutes later.

A second half double from Scott Pollock sealed victory for Brackley, who will play another National League side in Braintree Town in the First Round.

There was no such upset for Maidenhead United, who beat Taunton Town 3-0.

Tobi Sho-Silva put the Magpies ahead after just five minutes before Ruben Carvalho and Sam Barratt made sure of victory in second-half stoppage time.

Solihull Moors edged past Altrincham on penalties after the sides played out a 2-2 draw.

Altrincham looked set for the First Round after goals from Alex Newby and Tom Crawford overhauled Joss Labadie’s opener for Moors before Jamey Osborne netted a last-minute equaliser to send the tie to extra time.

But Altrincham missed three of their penalties to see Solihull progress 3-1 on penalties and book a tie with Maidstone United.

Penalties were also required Peterborough Sports and Rushall Olympic, with Rushall progressing 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw on the night.
