St. George’s Park’s reputation as the home of elite sport in the country was strengthened further over the past week, as the home of England’s teams played host to GB Ultimate Frisbee’s mixed indoor team trials.

For the uninitiated, Ultimate Frisbee – or Ultimate to give the game it’s abbreviated and more commonly used moniker, is a non-contact sport played by two teams throwing a frisbee, with the main aim of the game being to catch the disc in an opposing team’s end zone.

Over the course of the week, GB Ultimate Frisbee provided an opportunity for aspiring GB players to try out for the nation’s mixed indoor team, utilising St. George’s Park’s indoor Futsal arena during their time in Staffordshire.

“We are using St. George’s Park as our Ultimate Frisbee final trial event for the mixed indoors team, that’s competing in Denmark in 2022” explained Kat Cheng, GB Ultimate Frisbee captain.

“St. George’s Park has exceeded beyond our expectations. We knew it was going to be a great venue, but having the height of the room, the run-off, the seating for our players and the changing room facilities all on site have been phenomenal.

“We’ve not seen a venue that’s matched it yet.”
