St. George’s Park was delighted to host members of the Leaders Performance Institute on-site last week as part of the organisation’s Leaders Meet: High Performance Environments development day.

The member-only Leaders Meet event brought together an unrivalled network of the world’s high performance community, in person, to explore through case studies and immersive learning how to manage, lead and shape a high performance environment and what new benchmarks are being set now and in the future.

St. George’s Park provided the perfect setting as the home of all England National teams that prides itself on it’s world-class facilities and the base for the England Technical teams who operate at the epicentre of the high performance landscape.

The event was hosted by John Bull, Director & Lead for High Performance Research, Management Futures and welcomed England Rugby Senior Men's Head Coach, Eddie Jones who provided insight on his personal focuses as a leader in an evolving high performance environment.

Dr. David Fletcher, Senior Lecturer in Performance Psychology and Management, Loughborough University also spoke to Leaders in Sport Performance Institute members about a range of subjects, including, how to create a culture of learning, how to lead and shape a high performance programme and the role of psychology within high performance environments.

Commenting on the event, Laura McQueen, Managing Director at Leaders in Sport, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be back delivering first-class face-to-face events for our members. It’s been a challenging period for all event operators and we’ve had to show our creativity and flexibility over the past 18 months to deliver a fantastic programme of online and virtual events. There is no doubt that for Leaders in Sport in-person events remain absolutely essential and we can’t wait to bring the sport industry back together for our flagship Leaders Week London event in October.”

“We thank St. George’s Park for providing the perfect high performance environment for our development day on the very same subject. The venue has received a lot of media exposure in recent weeks as the basecamp for the England Team during the EUROs and there is no better example of a high performance environment in the UK. It really is the ideal place to host a sport leadership event.”

Holly Murdoch, General Manager at St. George’s Park, comments: “First and foremost, it’s fantastic to have external business events back at St. George’s Park and we were delighted to welcome Leaders in Sport and their network of members. Whilst it’s been an extremely busy period for the venue in recent months - hosting a variety of elite teams and sports for training camps - our business and leisure visitors have been naturally been restricted.

“With the relaxation of Government guidelines and our proven ability to host large numbers in a Covid-secure setting, we hope our unique combination a high performance sporting environment like no other, and the latest in events and conference facilities, will continue to be popular for meetings, events and conferences for the sport leadership sector and beyond.”

Operating a flagship Hilton hotel within its grounds - complete with a health club, spa, restaurant and bar lounge, meeting rooms and a versatile function suite suitable for conferences, exhibitions and banqueting – and with the support of Hilton’s events management services, St. George’s Park is firmly established as a leading conference and events venue in the Midlands and has already hosted over 7,000 events for the likes of Leaders in Sport, Google, Nike, BT, the Premier League, Continental and many more.

This comprehensive mix of services enables St. George’s Park to deliver an unrivalled level of customer support and expertise, with a versatile facility that can be tailored for both sporting and non-sporting events.
