England MU20s will host Czech Republic in an international match at Peterborough United next month.
The Young Lions will take on the Czechs at the Weston Homes Stadium on Monday 14 October (7pm kick-off), following a trip to play Italy in Parma four days earlier on Thursday 10 October (1pm BST).
Keith Downing’s side kicked-off their season in September when they were held to a goal-less draw by the Netherlands in Shrewsbury, before they picked up a deserved win against Switzerland thanks to Jack Clarke’s late goal in St. Jakob.
The MU20s last faced Czech Republic in October 2018, when Eddie Nketiah’s goal was cancelled out by a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw in Budevice.
“It's a great opportunity at this age group to take the team around England, to play in stadiums and give the players experience representing their country while being on the road," said head coach Downing.
“We're really looking forward to playing at Peterborough and we hope we can attract a good size crowd that will get behind the team.
“Czech Republic will provide a tough test for us and I'm sure it will make for an entertaining game. These are the kind of games that we want our players to be involved in so they can develop their international careers.”
And Peterborough United's club secretary Liz Elsom added: "We're delighted to stage this fixture at the Weston Homes Stadium and feel this is a great way of showcasing our football club and hopefully it can lead to further international fixtures in the future.
"We look forward to welcoming supporters from both nations and look forward to an exciting evening.”
