Caps for England v Bulgaria and England v Kosovo will be updated by Monday 16 September. Caps are loyalty points awarded to members of the England Supporters Club and England Supporters Travel Club for attending an England Men's Senior friendly or qualifier.
Two caps are awarded for attending England home friendlies and qualifiers. Travel Club members can earn two caps for attending England away friendlies or qualifiers.
What are caps used for?
Members can build up their caps level with the aim of applying for tournament fixtures or away matches. In the event that a tournament fixture or away match is oversubscribed, a ballot will be undertaken using the caps system to fairly allocate tickets to members.
Club Wembley members with linked England Supporters Club or England Supporters Travel Club accounts are advised that cap updates for these two fixtures may take longer to be applied. If you have a Club Wembley account that is not already linked with your ESC/ESTC membership or you attended the Bulgaria match as a guest of Club Wembley and wish to receive the caps, please email englandsupportersclub@thefa.com with both account details.
ESC/ESTC members are reminders that caps are only awarded for attending an England fixture - not when the tickets are purchased. It is not possible to retrospectively apply caps to a membership which was obtained after attending an England match.
For information on how the caps system works, please read the FAQs below.
Q. How are caps allocated?
A. Caps are allocated based on attendance. For home games two caps will be added automatically within a few days (of attending an England match) after the ticket is scanned at the turnstile. For our away fixtures Travel Club members will have their caps updated after attending. Caps are not awarded for non-attendance under any circumstances.
Q. I purchased a ticket in the general sale - can I still claim my caps?
A. If you purchase tickets in the general sale before the fixture please contact us and we can add your membership number to the order so that caps will be automatically added. If the game has passed you will be required to send an email to englandsupportersclub@thefa.com no later than 21 days after the fixture. Please include your FAN number, order number or ticket number, and an image of the ticket if possible.
Q. Why are my caps not showing up?
A. After you have attended a game, it takes up to 4 working days for your caps to be updated as the gate data for each match has to be checked. Your caps may also not be showing if your ticket was not scanned at the turnstiles (for a home game), your FAN number was not assigned to the ticket you used or if you did not collect your ticket (for an away game).
Q. How does my linked junior account receive caps for England games?
A. When purchasing tickets, you need to assign the junior member's FAN number to the junior ticket in your order. We cannot assume that because a junior is linked to your account, that they attended the same games as you.
Q. I attended an England match over a year ago, can I still get my caps allocated?
A. No. It's not possible to retrospectively apply caps for matches attended over 21 days ago. In addition, we cannot award caps for matches attended prior to being a member of the England Supporters Club or England Supporters Travel Club. It is the responsibility of each member to keep an eye on their caps level after they attend each England match. If your caps are not automatically updated within the advertised time frame, please email englandsupportersclub@thefa.com within 21 days of attending a match with your FAN number and order number.
Q. How will tickets for UEFA Euro 2020™ be allocated?
A. Until England's qualification to the tournament is confirmed, we cannot advise on ticket availability and pricing. Please be aware that only members of the England Supporters Travel Club will be eligible to apply for UEFA Euro 2020 tickets through The FA (and this includes any potential England matches held at Wembley Stadium). The ticket policy for major events is one per Travel Club member so if you plan to apply as a group, each person will need to be a Travel Club member.
Q. I purchased my tickets from a third party website, can I get my caps updated?
A. No. Caps are only awarded for tickets purchased directly from The FA. If you've purchased tickets from a third party ticket website or via social media, we cannot award you caps.
Q. I am a Club Wembley member and have recently joined the England Supporters Club, can I get all my caps backdated?
A. No, for the integrity of the England Supporters Club membership, caps are only applied to ESC and ESTC memberships that were active at the time of attending the match (through Club Wembley). We cannot backdate caps onto England Supporters Club memberships that were obtained after attending and caps cannot be retrospectively applied for matches that took place more than 21 days ago.
