Barclays FA WSL clubs set to share historic £500,000 prize fund

Clubs in the Barclays FA WSL will earn a share of a £500,000 prize fund for the 2019-20 season.

It is the first time a league prize fund has been in place, thanks to The FA’s new partnership with Barclays, with the winners set to collect £100,000.

The remaining £400,000 will be distributed among the other 11 clubs based on their final league position.

The 2019-20 Barclays FA WSL season gets under way with two matches on Saturday 7 September.

City host United at the Etihad (3pm kick-off) in the league’s first-ever Manchester derby – a match you can watch live on BT Sport – while Bristol City welcome Brighton to Ashton Gate (3pm).

There are two London derbies on the Sunday as Chelsea host Tottenham at Stamford Bridge (12.30pm, live on BBC Red Button) and champions Arsenal take on West Ham (2.30pm, live on BBC Red Button).

Liverpool v Reading (2pm) and Birmingham City v Everton (2pm) – as well as every other match this season – will be broadcast on The FA Player, a new live streaming platform which will be free to use and available online and via a dedicated mobile app.
