Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas and four-time champion Chris Froome were among the Team Sky riders to visit St. George’s Park.
The UCI World Tour outfit were the latest non-football sports team on site and spent two days for their October camp to undertake medical tests.
They used the performance facilities and stayed at the Hilton Hotel.
As well as crucial end of season work, the riders put their football skills to the test with a crossbar challenge on the indoor 3G pitch – Chris Lawless victorious.
Team Sky Performance manager, Rod Ellingworth [pictured above] said: “We’ve used different places in the UK and abroad but St. George’s Park offers the facilities.
“The key part is that performance element to the place.
“You walk in here, you feel performance.
"Having the hotel on site cuts down on travel time and helps everybody.”
Froome added: “There’s an interesting dynamic here with sports coming together.
“This is known as a hub for football.
“I think there’s some crossover when sports do come together and you can learn from that.”
