Michael Skubala has named his England Futsal squad for the last two home matches of the season.
The Futsal Lions face a double-header against Euro finalists Poland at St. George’s Park over the weekend of 2-3 June.
Skubala said: “This is going to be a huge test for us as Poland are such a powerful team that have matured over recent years to become a top, top side.”
The most notable inclusion to the squad is a recall for Jason Kilbride, who was last called up under former head coach Pete Sturgess.
Skubala added: “I have been watching Jason this season and not only is he fitter than ever, he also has strong leadership qualities and experience that can benefit the younger players.
“But it will be tough for him as the step up is bigger than ever.”
Skubala believes the matches against Poland will provide a great showcase for Futsal and he has urged players, coaches and fans alike to get to the national football centre next weekend.
He said: “To appreciate the speed and intensity of Futsal at this level you really need to be at the side of the court, to understand the level of contact, the strategy and the emotion of the game.
“For all Futsal enthusiasts, these are games not to be missed. They will be fast and furious, that’s for sure.”
