Midfielder Dele Alli has been crowned Premier League player of the month for January after netting five goals in as many games.
It is the first time the 20-year-old has won the award, though he was named in the Premier League PFA team of the year last season and won the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
Alli said: “It’s the first one I’ve won and it’s a real honour.
“I was more clinical in January than earlier in the season. I still got a lot of chances earlier on in the season, I just wasn’t taking them, but last month I think you can see I started putting them away a lot more, so I’ve just got to keep it going.”
Alli, a £5million acquisition from MK Dons, scored twice in a 4-1 victory at Watford on New Year’s Day and bagged another brace three days later as Tottenham ended Chelsea’s run of 13 successive victories.
The England man was on target again as Spurs recovered from two goals down to draw with Manchester City – maintaining his record of having never lost a Premier League game in which he has scored.
Alli has won 15 senior England caps, making his debut as a late substitute against Estonia in October 2015, and marked his first start with a goal in a 2-0 win over France at Wembley Stadium.
His award follows England team-mate Raheem Sterling being named player of the month for August.
Former England captain Steven Gerrard holds the honour of having won the award more than anyone else, six times, once more than current skipper Wayne Rooney.
