Patients and staff from the Headley Court recovery centre will be among hundreds of troops cheering England on against Switzerland on Tuesday.

The FA are once again getting behind our country’s Armed Forces and offering them the opportunity to support their football heroes through the military charity Tickets For Troops.‎

As the Three Lions take on the Swiss in the European Qualifier, troops from all corners of the country, including staff and patients from the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court, will be at Wembley Stadium.

England legend, Match of the Day presenter and Tickets For Troops patron, Gary Lineker, visited patients at DMRC Headley Court earlier this year where he spoke to troops about his football memories.

"I was overwhelmed by the personal stories of those remarkable people I met as well as the dedication and skills of the staff," he said.

"‎It's fantastic that The FA has been so generous in their consistent support for Tickets For Troops."

WO2 George Dent, Royal Marine and Military Liaison Officer at Headley Court said: “Both patients and staff here at Headley Court had a great day with Gary.

"He gave them a huge insight into his career and spoke to the guys about their military journeys.

"His visit gave our patients a real morale boost. We have a large contingent of football fans here and they will all be cheering on our boys on Tuesday thanks to the FA and Tickets For Troops.”

England look to confirm top spot in the group against Switzerland

Veronica Bamford, Director of Operations at Tickets For Troops, said: “The FA have once again pulled out all the stops for our fabulous troops. We are extremely grateful to them for enabling our national team to be cheered on by our nation’s true heroes.”

Tickets For Troops, is a military charity which was set up in 2009 to recognise the brave servicemen and women who spend months away from their families, need to be available to serve at short notice and put their lives on the line for our country.

They offer troops, on behalf of our donors, tickets to events which they can share with their loved ones, as a small acknowledgement of the work they do.

Tickets For Troops has over 140,000 members of the military registered and has distributed over 750,000 tickets for events ranging from the Olympics in 2012, the Invictus Games, the Isle of Wight Festival, the British F1 Grand Prix, the rugby Premiership, top class cricket, darts, horse racing and snooker, as well as major theatre performances and other music events.

The Three Lions continue their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign and can clinch top spot in Group E on Tuesday night with a draw against Switzerland at Wembley.
