Roy Hodgson receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Roy Hodgson was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2015 Pride of Sports Awards. 

The England manager collected the honour at a ceremony on Wednesday night at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London. 

Roy's 40-year coaching career

  • Major international tournaments: 3

The achievement was in recognition of a 40-year coaching career that has taken in 20 different roles.

The Pride of Sports Awards, backed by The Mirror and Sport England, celebrates and recognises the unsung heroes of sport. 

Roy, who was also joined on the night by FA chairman Greg Dyke, told MirrorSport: “I’ve also been very fortunate to work at clubs and for a number of other countries around Europe.

“Now it is an honour to lead the English national team, a position that gives me a lot of pride and a lot of pleasure."

He continued: “I go to the Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards every year. 

"It is a very prestigious occasion and a great occasion in the sense that it honours people that otherwise maybe wouldn’t have got such a recognition.

“In the same way I am honoured to have been at this event for sport. I can relate to it even more because thats where I have spent my life.”

England are next in action in March when they take on Germany and Holland.

Schools and Junior football club group applications
As always, a number of tickets have been made available to Schools and Junior football clubs. These tickets are situated within the family enclosure. A maximum of 49 tickets may be requested.
