Wojciech Szczesny celebrates FA Cup victory at Wembley
Wojciech Szczesny has played down speculation over his future at Arsenal after helping them to FA Cup victory on Saturday.

The Polish keeper was selected to start in the Gunners’ comprehensive 4-0 win against Aston Villa at Wembley, despite not featuring for the club in the league since New Year’s Day.

And Szczesny has played down talk that he could be leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer, as well as paying tribute to boss Arsene Wenger for his support.

"I am very grateful to the manager, he has been good with me over these last couple of months and has shown all the faith in the world in me," revealed the 25-year-old.

"I am very thankful for the chance to play in the Cup Final and am very glad of a clean sheet."

Szczesny has been with the north London club since he was 16 and has been vying for the number one spot with Colombia international David Ospina this season.

But with speculation that Chelsea stopper Petr Cech could be on Wenger’s summer wish-list, Szczesny remains resolute in his determination to stay at the club.

"You [media] like to speculate, but I am happy where I am," he said.

"I have got all the support in the world from the manager and I have fantastic relations with him, so you can stop the gossip now because I am here for good.

"I will stay."

Wenger was full of praise for Szczesny’s performance too, as Arsenal sealed their 12th FA Cup title to become the famous competition’s most successful club.

"Wojciech was very good," he revealed, after opting to play the Pole ahead of Ospina.

"It was a very difficult decision because if it doesn't work it will be questioned, but I think it was a good decision."
