England Under-21s got their preparations for their Toulon Tournament opener against Qatar underway on Wednesday afternoon with their first training session on French soil.

Gareth Southgate's side arrived in Provence on Tuesday evening and after settling into their new base just outside of Bandol, quickly turned their attentions to the match on Thursday evening.

Training at the home stadium of local club AS Saint-Cyr, the Three Lions were greeted by a crowd of local children who had come along to watch the session with many of them sporting English club shirts too.

And the session also gave Southgate and assistant Steve Holland the opportunity to work on a few things with the squad as they look ahead to the match with Qatar.

That's the first of four initial matches at the Tournament, which comes three days after Monday's Euro qualifying win over Wales in Swansea.
