Oxlade-Chamberlain scored Arsenal's opener on Sunday

England star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain inspired Arsenal to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Liverpool to book his side a place in The FA Cup with Budweiser quarter finals.

Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring for the Gunners in the 16th minute, firing home from inside the area after Yaya Sanogo's effort was blocked.

Then, two minutes after the break, the 20-year-old’s powerful run down the right wing allowed him to cross for Lukas Podolski, who made it 2-0 to the home side with a fine one-touch finish.

Oxlade-Chamberlain's England team-mate Steven Gerrard set up a grandstand finish, slotting home a penalty in the 59th minute but Arsenal clung on to their lead to set up a Sixth Round clash with Everton.

And the Toffees also had their England contingent to thank for their place in the next round.

Phil Jagielka played 90 minutes for Everton in their 3-1 win over Swansea alongside left-back Leighton Baines, who scored his side's third of the game.

Lacina Traore had hit a fourth-minute opener before Jonathan de Guzman equalised on the quarter-hour.

Substitute Steven Naismith re-established Everton's lead in the 65th minute and Baines sealed the victory with a penalty 18 minutes from time.

Gareth Barry and Leon Osman also featured for Roberto Martinez's side, who will travel to the Emirates on the weekend of the 8 and 9 of March for the mouth-watering quarter final clash.

Former England U17 and U20 captain Conor Coady was also amongst the goals on Sunday, scoring for Sheffield United in their tie with Nottingham Forest.

Coady, on loan at Bramall Lane from Liverpool, equalised for Nigel Clough's side to help set them up for a 3-1 win and potential derby with Sheffield Wednesday in the Sixth Round Proper.
