The match is part of England’s preparation for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup which takes place in Canada.

England will face France (9 June), Mexico (13 June) and Colombia (17 June) in Group F.

In June, Milton Keynes hosted the FA Women’s Cup Final, where Arsenal lifted the trophy after beating Everton 2-0 in front of a crowd of more than 15,000.

Arsenal and England defender Alex Scott, who spent three seasons playing for Boston Breakers in the US, said: “When we won the FA Cup at stadiummk in the summer it was such a great day and the crowd definitely played a big part in that.

“There seemed to be a real support for women’s football in Milton Keynes and the players were all really impressed with the stadium and its facilities.

“USA will be a tough game for us, they’re a very good team but it’s important that we play games like this ahead of the World Cup so we can be in the best place possible for the tournament.

“I’ve played against most of the USA team when I was at Boston so it’ll be great to line up against them again at Milton Keynes.”

Pete Winkelman, chairman of MK Dons, said: “We are delighted that The FA has chosen stadiummk as the venue for this exciting game between England Women and their USA counterparts.

“England and USA are two of the biggest nations in women’s football and after the success of the FA Women’s Cup final here in June, where over 15,000 people turned out to watch Arsenal and Everton Ladies, we hope that this upcoming fixture will prove to be another landmark occasion.”

Tickets for the game will be available on Monday 5 January 2015 from www.mkdons.com/tickets or by calling 0333 200 5343.
