Following England Women’s 4-0 defeat of Turkey on Thursday evening, manager Brent Hills says he’s delighted with the start the Lionesses have made to their FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 qualifying campaign.

He said: “We’ve played four games now and we’ve got four clean sheets, so we’re happy that and it’s something we can build on."

Hills has now presided over four victories out of four since the summer departure of Hope Powell, and the caretaker boss admitted he was pleased with the way things have gone so far.

“After the unsettling times of the summer and the unsettling period now, it was just a question of me supporting the girls in order to perform,” he added.

“Credit to them, they’ve got 12 points, they’ve started the group off really well and now that puts pressure on the other teams.

“We’re in a strong position, halfway through, but nothings settled until you’ve got the points to win the group.”
