A: THE FA FIVES is a nationwide five-a-side football festival. Promoted in partnership with BBC Sport, it has been created to celebrate UEFA EURO 2020.
In its 60th anniversary year, the 2020 edition of the UEFA EUROs is being hosted across 12 nations between 12 June and 12 July 2020. Wembley Stadium is hosting seven matches in total, including the semi-finals and final.
But before the tournament kicks-off, THE FA FIVES will stage this country’s biggest and most inclusive five-a-side festival to date. Free to enter and with 15 different football categories on offer (see ‘Who can take part?’ below), it’s FOR ALL.
All FA FIVES events are open to spectators, so even if you don’t take an active part, come along to enjoy the music, food, drink and watch the action unfold.
The fun starts on Saturday/Sunday May 2 and 3 with FA FIVES’ Round One events at over 120 venues across the country. Over 5,000 teams and 35,000 participants will be looking to progress to one of the five festival-style Regional Finals on the weekend of May 30/31.
Then the big prize awaits. The regional winners will head for Wembley itself. That’s because the National Finals will be played in front of the world-famous stadium on the opening weekend of UEFA EURO 2020 (Friday 12 and Saturday 13 June).
And even if your team doesn’t make it through, you’re still a winner. That’s because everyone who plays in Round One will be in with a chance of winning UEFA EURO 2020 tickets for an England group game at Wembley Stadium. Get in!
