The FA Young Reporters' Club: Inspiring the next generation of football journalists

Young Reporters' Club watch England train at St George's Park

Throughout the 2018-19 season, we showcased reports from aspiring young reporters on matches across The FA competitions including the FA Youth Cup, SSE Women's FA Cup.

As part of an exciting new programme called The FA Young Reporters’ Club, we have been publishing content from volunteer writers, putting a spotlight on young writing talent as well as clubs at all levels of the football pyramid. The programme began with the very first round of the Emirates FA Cup – the extra preliminary round – and throughout the course of the season, extended to women’s competitions, The FA Youth Cup and more.

We hope our young reporters, aged 18-24, will continue to bring the colour and flavour of the cups to TheFA.com, with a few games featured in each round. Their reports won’t be traditional match reports – they will of course discuss what happened in the games, but more importantly they will bring the fabric of the competitions to life. The members of our programme are excited to bring you their reports from the games, and they’re also looking forward to the mentoring and feedback their work will get from experienced journalists and industry experts as we go along the journey.

If you're interested in joining the Young Reporters' Club, email us at editorial@thefa.com. Please note you need to be 18 or over in order to join.

We hope you take some time to explore our section to read our members' perspective on the matches they reported on, and celebrate the teams and clubs who take part in The FA competitions.
