Lottie is responsible for account managing certain regular teams and organisations that utilise the facility; this involves managing their requirements and schedules whilst on site, and also organising events for them. Along with her team, she is also responsible for dealing with all Non-FA enquiries they receive. These queries can range from a single pitch hire usage, to a 10-day training camp on site. On top of that, she supports the St. George’s Park sales team with their administration and any other requests they have.
MEET OUR ST. GEORGE'S PARK OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR, LOTTIE TURNER
My working day can vary a lot depending on what events and activities we have taking place on site. However, on a typical day I would deal with various enquiries and requests we have from clients looking to visit St. George’s Park. These range from brand new clients to our regular bookers, so the clientele we work with varies a lot making every day different. Also, I support our team with tasks or requests they may need assistance with, this can vary from database updates to meeting visitors who are on site to view our facilities.
My favourite thing about working for The FA is getting the chance to be part of such a diverse and prestigious organisation. I feel immense pride every day that I come on site and see the St. George’s Park facility or visit Wembley Stadium, and I don’t think that feeling will ever leave me.
My favourite thing about my role is getting the chance to allow teams and organisations of every level to experience St. George’s Park. Getting the chance to arrange events and visits for people whether they are from elite, grass roots or corporate organisations and seeing their positive reactions and how much they enjoy their experience is such a great feeling.
Before working for The FA I worked at the Belfry, another sporting environment as this is where my passion lies. Gaining an apprenticeship gave me the opportunity to be part of The FA.
I would advise them to get involved in as much as possible. The opportunities to gain experience are valued greatly, and are widely available now with the amount of sporting events and organisations we have based both within our country and internationally. The more experience you gain, the more confidence this gives you. This also opens your eyes to the different areas of your intended career path that could be of interest and gives you chance to sample these.
Also look for different ways in which you could gain a career. Jobs do become available, but there also opportunities such as apprenticeships and internships which can offer great involvement within the industry.
I believe that everyone here at The FA is very passionate. There are various departments and areas of our organisation that have different focuses and objectives to others. However, together we all share a main passion of achieving the best for English football and I believe this really shows across our culture. We want to work together to accomplish as much as we can to support success, whether this be for our elite teams or across grass roots level.
As I came from being an apprentice, I am so appreciative for the development opportunities I have been offered and have received with The FA. I initially joined the organisation and was working whilst also gaining my qualification, and I felt greatly supported by those around me at The FA. Upon completing this, I have continued to learn and develop my skills whilst working here. Also, personally my manager has been very supportive if I have requested additional support and training for specific areas.
The Senior Management Team here at The FA all seem very determined and passionate about achieving their departmental goals, but also supporting each other in gaining success across the business. This is very inspiring to the rest of the organisation I feel, encouraging us to work in the same way and support all staff at The FA, whether in our division or not. I feel that the passion demonstrated by them reflects on the rest of the employees and is shared with us at all staff events, and regular updates presented through our employee network.
