Being the oldest member of the squad, I’ve probably got a few more memories of the World Cup than most of the lads.

The first World Cup I can properly remember is USA ’94.

It was baking hot over here and then I’d watch the matches over there on TV and think ‘wow’!

I remember seeing Republic of Ireland manager Jack Charlton handing out those bags of water. It was ridiculous how hot it was out there.

I was young and obviously loved my football and I thought to myself ‘being at a World Cup one day… that would be nice’ but I never thought it would actually happen.

The World Cup is unbelievable, from the start to the finish, and I’m so excited about getting to Russia.
