Date confirmed for the 2016-17 Emirates FA Cup Final

The date for the showpiece conclusion to the English domestic season can now be confirmed.

The Emirates FA Cup Final will take place at Wembley Stadium connected by EE on Saturday 27 May 2017 (kick-off TBC).

There are 736 clubs in this season's competition and it all kicks off on Saturday 6 August with 184 extra preliminary round ties taking place across the country.

Manchester United won last season's Final, coming from 1-0 down to defeat Crystal Palace 2-1 after extra-time. A peak domestic audience of 10.09m tuned into The Final on BBC One.

The 2015-16 Emirates FA Cup amassed a total cumulative global reach of 875m, up from 828m in 2014-15.

Last season’s first-round tie between Salford City and Notts County, which was broadcast live on BBC One, had a domestic peak audience of 3.49m.
