Switzerland hold England in UEFA Development Tournament

England drew 2-2 with Switzerland at St. George’s Park in the final match of the UEFA U16 Development Tournament.

After a 2-0 defeat by Poland and a 1-1 draw with Denmark in this annual friendly tournament, the Young Lions recovered from going behind to the Swiss early in the second half as Charlie Wellings’ netted a 49th-minute leveller.

Substitute Charlotte Devlin replaced the goalscorer and got herself on the scoresheet shortly after to put England ahead.

But the visitors came again and earned a draw late on.

England are next in action in July when they travel to Sweden to compete in the Nordic Cup against with Iceland, Holland and the host nation.
