The refs line up: Graham Poll (back, 3rd from right) and Marco Rodriguez (middle, 2nd from left)
First referees named
Monday, 05 June 2006.
The referee appointments have been made for the first round of World Cup group stage matches, which start this Friday, and Mexican Marco Rodriguez will take charge of England v Paraguay.
The Group B opener in Frankfurt on Saturday afternoon will be the 32-year-old official's first World Cup Finals match and he'll be aided by his compatriot Jose Luis Camargo and Costa Rica's Leonel Leal.
On Tuesday, also in Frankfurt, English trio Graham Poll, Phil Sharp and Glenn Turner will officiate in the Group G clash between South Korea and Togo.
For Poll and Sharp it is a return to the World stage after officiating in Korea and Japan four years ago - with Sharp running the line for the Final.
This will be Turner's first World Cup Finals, but he did hold the flag in two matches at Euro 2004 in Portugal.
