Tottenham and Leeds youngsters join up with Stuart Pearce's squad.
Harry Kane and Tom Lees have both received call-ups to the
England Under-21s squad ahead of their final Euro 2013
Qualifier against Norway.
Striker Kane, on loan at Norwich City from parent club Tottenham Hotspur, joins Leeds United defender Lees in making their first appearances in Stuart Pearce's Under-21s set-up.
The youngsters are being given the opportunity as England look to complete their group as winners against the Norwegians at Chesterfield on Monday night, whilst also allowing Pearce to monitor players eligible for the Young Lions.
Head Coach Pearce said: “It’s a perfect opportunity for us to take a look
at Tommy and Harry, and let them experience life with the Under-21s.
“Any experience at this level is invaluable for a young player, and I am sure they will take a lot from being with us and the rest of the squad, even for a few days.”
Kane, 19, has appeared several times for England’s development teams,
including the U19s at the recent European Championship, and joins Pearce’s set-up on the back of a deadline-day move to Norwich. Lees, 21, is a product of Leeds’ academy system.
The pair have met up with the squad at their training base at
St. George's Park, following the
2-0 win in Azerbaijan on Thursday.
Tickets for Monday's game with Norway at Chesterfield's Proact Stadium are still on sale, so make sure you're there to see the final Group qualifier. Click here for more details.
