England Under-21s head coach Gareth Southgate got more than he bargained for on a recent trip to a local primary school in Middlesbrough.
With the Three Lions taking on Germany at the Riverside Stadium in the town on Monday 30 March, the former Boro boss surprised pupils by taking part in a skills session and donating some tickets for the game.
But before he left, Southgate sat down with 10-year-old Adam Payne to face a variety of questions about his life in and outside of football.
Among the posers put to the former Aston Villa and Crystal Palace player were his choice of Messi or Ronaldo, the best players he faced and played with during his career and his favourite subject at school.
