Tuesday 04 Jun 2024

Nathan Magill will join the FA as our head of referee development ahead of the start of the new season.

Magill joins us from Football Australia and will take over the role previously held by Dan Meeson, leading on all technical and development matters for FA Refereeing.

Working in partnership with our head of referee operations Peter Elsworth, Magill will be responsible for the day to day function and performance of the FA Refereeing department and delivery of the FA Refereeing Strategy, ensuring delivery against key aims and targets.

Since joining Football Australia in 2021, Magill has developed a robust and talented team of match officials who have contributed to the integrity and quality of the sport at all levels, where his leadership has been instrumental in advancing the standards and professionalism of refereeing in Australian football.

FA director of professional game relations, Andy Ambler, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nathan into our refereeing department from the start of next season. Nathan brings a passion for officiating and wealth of knowledge and experience which will help us to continue to drive forward our ambitious strategy for refereeing in England.”
