Accrington Stanley FC ordered to implement an action plan and fined £5,000

An independent Regulatory Commission has imposed an action plan and £5,000 fine on Accrington Stanley FC for misconduct in relation to crowd control during its EFL League One game on Saturday 22 October 2022 against Bolton Wanderers FC. 

The FA alleged that Accrington Stanley FC had failed to ensure its spectators – including any purporting to be its supporters or followers – conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and not use words or behave in a way which is improper, offensive, abusive, indecent, or insulting with either express or implied reference to sexual orientation. 

Accrington Stanley FC admitted the charge and requested a hearing. The independent Regulatory Commission subsequently imposed these sanctions and its written reasons for them can be found below.
