England MU17s came from behind to beat Russia 4-2

England MU17s came from behind to beat Russia 4-2 in Marbella on Saturday.

Kevin Betsy's side went behind in the 47th minute after a goalless first half but equalised just after the hour mark via Harvey Vale.

Russia scored again with 15 minutes left to play to put England on the back foot but Amadou Diallo's equaliser set up a tense finale.

But just a minute later substitute Lewis Dobbin put England ahead before Louie Barry's 90th minute goal sealed the victory for Betsy and England.

The win followed England's 0-0 opener with Ukraine on Thursday evening as Betsy's side prepare to take on Ukraine again on Monday 10 February.

The fixtures will be a key part of England’s preparation for their UEFA U17 EURO elite round qualifiers, which will be played in March.

Betsy’s side will face Georgia, Romania and hosts Belgium in Group 6 as they look to qualify for this summer’s tournament in Estonia.
