Women's Football Weekend: Get set for another landmark moment in the women's game

Friday 18 Oct 2019
Tottenham players celebrate victory at the London Stadium

With local derbies, fierce rivalries and matches in state-of-the-art stadia, Women’s Football Weekend promises to be another landmark moment in the rapid growth of the women’s game.

Set to take place over the weekend of 16-17 November, this feast of football comes just seven days after Phil Neville’s Lionesses take on Germany at a sold-out Wembley Stadium, meaning back-to-back weekends of top-quality action.

And with a men’s international break causing a pause in the Premier League and Championship there has never been a better opportunity to go and support your local women’s team.

In the Barclays FA WSL, there is a Merseyside derby, a north London derby – at the new 62,000-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – and a re-run of the 2019 Women’s FA Cup Final between Man City and West Ham, not to mention the Amex Stadium hosting Brighton’s match against Birmingham and Bristol City’s trip to the Madejski.

The Amex Stadium will host Brighton v Birmingham City on Sunday 17 November

In the FA Women’s Championship, table-toppers Aston Villa will travel to Coventry United while fellow high-fliers Sheffield United and Durham will face off against Lewes and London Bees respectively.

There is also an extensive range of tasty fixtures across The FA Women’s National League and various County cups.
