A late debut goal from Will Fish wasn't enough to secure a draw for the Young Lions

England MU17s slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Germany in their second game in Spain this week.

The Young Lions drew 3-3 with them in their first clash last week, but they had no answer on this occasion as Luca Netz put Germany ahead in the 11th minute after cutting inside from the left and firing past Conniah Boyce-Clarke into the roof of the net.

And they doubled their advantage early in the second half when a direct pass from the back caught out England and substitute Lasse Gunther raced clear to round the keeper and score in the 47th minute.

Kevin Betsy’s side looked to summon the spirit which saw them salvage a draw on Thursday and they did pull a goal back when Aaron Ramsey's free-kick into the area was stabbed home by debutant Will Fish in the second minute of stoppage time, but it was too late on this occasion.

England will finish their trip with a game against hosts Spain on Monday afternoon.
