Tickets for England Women’s fixture against Brazil in Middlesbrough on Saturday have sold out.
Over 30,000 supporters are set to cheer on the Lionesses as they take on their South American opponents at the Riverside Stadium, with 15,000 tickets snapped up in the first two weeks of sale alone.
Only a limited number of single seats remained on sale yesterday [Tuesday 1 October] with The FA operating a waiting list for fans still hoping for the chance to watch Phil Neville’s side play in the north east.
However, huge demand from supporters signing up to the waiting list means this has now closed. Fans on the list will be contacted directly if any tickets are returned before the fixture.
The impact of this summer’s World Cup has prompted record attendances at Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches across the country.
Meanwhile, over 77,000 tickets have been sold for Germany’s trip to Wembley Stadium on Saturday 9 November, with the mouth-watering encounter set to be a record-breaking attendance for a women’s match in England.
