England Women's U19s edged by Spain in La Manga Tournament opener

England Women’s Under-19s were edged 2-1 by Spain in their opening match of the La Manga Tournament.

Manchester United’s Aimee Palmer scored the Young Lionesses’ goal just before half time.

Rehanne Skinner’s side face China on Saturday and Switzerland on Monday.

England will host the U19 European Championship elite qualifying round on home soil in April.

They take on Turkey [on Wednesday 3 April], Sweden [Saturday 6 April] and Italy [Tuesday 9 April] with every match to be played at St. George’s Park.
