A Mason Mount double and a goal from Eddie Nketiah helps England U19s beat Latvia

Eddie Nketiah scored England's second goal against Latvia in Skopje

England U19s took another step towards this summer’s Euro Finals, with a 3-0 victory over Latvia.

A brace from Mason Mount and a strike from Eddie Nketiah made it two wins from two games in their Elite Qualifying Round in Skopje.

And they now know that a positive result against host nation Macedonia on Tuesday will be enough to secure top spot in their group, following Saturday’s win and their 4-1 victory over Hungary on Wednesday.

That means they’ll earn a place in the Euro Finals in Finland in July and a chance to defend the title last season’s U19s group won in Georgia.

It took Paul Simpson’s side just over 20 minutes to break the deadlock, as Mount struck the Young Lions ahead at the National Arena.

And Nketiah doubled the advantage early in the second half to put England on course before Mount add his second and England’s third in the 82nd minute.

The final group game with Macedonia on Tuesday will kick-off at 1pm.
