Avilla Bergin scored the third goal in Charlton's thrilling win

Avilla Bergin scored the decisive goal as Charlton Athletic ended Tottenham Hotspur’s unbeaten FA Women’s Premier League Southern Division record this season with a 3-2 win.

The winger scored Charlton’s third on a thrilling afternoon as the league’s second-placed team upset the champions.

Spurs led early through Grace Coombs’ own goal, but the South Londoners hit back through Gemma Shepherd’s superb finish from Daisy Monaghan’s neat flick.

And the Addicks carried their momentum into the second period as Kit Graham smashed them ahead ten minutes after the break, before Bergin slammed home in style to put daylight between the sides – although Spurs did net a late consolation.

Elsewhere, Cardiff City produced their best display of the season as they beat Queens Park Rangers 12-1 at home.

Emily Allen got the ball rolling in the tenth minute, before an own goal from Jean Sseninde doubled their lead.

After Chloe Lloyd made it 3-0, QPR hit back through Neethu Haridas but Cardiff were rampant from there on in with Chloe Chivers and Hope Suominen each netting, as well as a brace from Laura Williams before half time.

And there was no let up in the second half as Cori Williams, Kerry Bartlett and Allen all scored – while Suominen grabbed two more to complete her hat-trick.

Third-placed Coventry edged to a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace, with Ally Hall’s first-half header proving decisive, while C & K Basildon beat Swindon Town 3-0.

In the Northern Division, Nottingham Forest beat third-placed Fylde – with Rebecca Kemp scoring the only goal  as Forest claimed just their fifth win of the campaign.

That defeat leaves the race for third evenly poised, and Derby County joined the hunt with a 4-1 win away at Newcastle United.

The home side took the lead, but Derby quickly restored their confidence with Lauren Cresswell, Lisa Giampalma, Melissa Johnson and Ellie May all scoring.

Finally, West Bromwich Albion also hit four as they downed Bradford City 4-1, with Lowri Walker scoring twice.
