Continental Tyres

Since the opening of St. George’s Park, Continental Tyres has led a number of football-based initiatives at The FA’s National Football Centre.

With a focus on preparation for driving performance, Continental Tyres presence at the National Football Centre includes a 60-metre indoor ‘high performance’ running track, a goalkeeping ‘stopping zone’ and a bespoke ContiWarmUp area, enabling all players to prepare before a game or training session.

The ContiWarmUp is a unique programme designed to prevent injuries and allow athletes to perform to their best. It not only allows for better performances during the game, but also decreases the risk of injury and gives players the opportunity to spend more time on the pitch rather than on the sideline.

The Continental Tyres Challenge is the latest addition at St. George’s Park. The Challenge is a fantastic opportunity for players of all ages and abilities to benchmark their skills against the professionals in a high performance sporting environment. Whether it’s testing their endurance skills on the running hill, or reaction speeds on the batak board, the various parts of the challenge will help players to develop their game away from the football pitch.

Another element of the partnership with St. George’s Park is the joint development of the online football coaching area. Sitting in the ‘My Football’ section of the TheFA.com, this dedicated resource is designed to help deliver more effective warm up activities that can be tailored to players of all ages and abilities.

Holly Glover, Commercial Manager at St. George’s Park, said: “Our partnership with Continental is a hugely significant one for St. George’s Park. As a world leading brand, they bring with them a wealth of expertise and knowledge from having worked in football for many years on a global level. We’re hugely excited about what the partnership can achieve over the coming years.”

Peter Robb, Marketing Communications Manager at Continental Tyres, said: “Our partnership with St. George’s Park is very exciting. The facility is a real investment in the future of football in England, and supporting that is really core to our values.  We are committed to all levels of football from grassroots to elite and St. George’s Park typifies this for us.”
