I believe that Capello has done a reasonably job in his tenure. As for the World Cup exit; the team started slowly like many others (Germany lost their first game!) and took a couple of knocks to their confidence in the first couple of games. However, the job was done and they achieved the knock-out stages which is what counts. The Germany game would have been totally different had the second goal stood. England were playing their way into a rhythm and looking dangerous. The only criticism is that the players let their heads drop whilst the German players were lifted by their lucky escape. The team did not excel themselves but they did not disgrace themselves like the French or fall as far from grace as the unlucky Italians with their high expectations of retaining the cup. Capello cannot be held responsible for the players confidence problem, it's one for the players to sort out themselves. When things go awry the players need to dig deep into their reserves and use their determination to raise their game. I believe that Capello has the strength of character to ignore the media experts and armchair managers and develop the England squad. Long may he continue.
