The FA People's Cup was first formed in 2015, following on from the popularity of the FA Umbro Fives competition before it.

In its first year, over 30,000 people took part in the competition which resulted in over 7000 new teams being created. Last year another 45,000 players took part in the biggest five-a-side tournament in the country.
