Eastbourne Town will continue their Emirates FA Cup adventure after progressing through their preliminary round replay thanks to a hard-fought 3-2 win away at Whyteleafe.

Jason Taylor fired Eastbourne head after 28 minutes as the visitors started like an express train and it was soon 2-0 before the break as Kevin Pogue doubled the lead for the Sussex outfit.

Ten minutes after the break former Aldershot striker Roscoe D’Sane pulled a goal back for the home side but the comeback was short-lived.

Ben Billings made the score 3-1 to the visitors on 69 minutes but Sam Clayton set up a nervy finale with Whyteleafe’s second 17 minutes from time, but Eastbourne stood firm though in the final minutes to progress.

Meanwhile, Eastbourne United saw off Arundel but they were made to work for the 4-1 victory.

Pete Cooper gave United the lead just seconds before the half-time interval but Scott Tipper levelled for the home side from the penalty spot soon after the break.

However, Liam Baitup turned the tie on its head in the final quarter of the game as he scored three times in the final 20 minutes to give Eastbourne a deserved 4-1 win.

Shane Copper-Clark scored the only goal of the game as Bracknell Town defeated Brimscombe & Thrupp.

Witham Town were forced to do it the hard way as they won 3-2 at Brightlingsea – Jordan Pavett scoring the winner in the 90th minute.

Earlier, Witham had gone ahead after 35 minutes as Daniel Emmanuel scored, while Phil Kelly equalised for Brightlingsea on the stroke of half-time.

Emmanuel added a second after 54 minutes but Luke Read levelled for the home side six minutes later. Just as the game looked destined for extra time, Pavett struck to sink the plucky home side.

Elsewhere, Bedfont & Feltham progressed through to the next round of the competition as they saw off AFC Hayes 3-1 on their travels and Bamber Bridge also won 3-1 against Mossley.
