There was a debut goal for Ashleigh Plumptre during Notts County’s 5-0 victory, as England’s Ellen White (2), Alex Greenwood and Rachel Williams also found the net.

White’s international colleague Toni Duggan and Isobel Christiansen ensured Manchester City continued their 11-match unbeaten run, with a 2-0 win over Liverpool, who also qualified.

And England legend Rachel Yankey scored a fine free-kick during Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Millwall Lionesses, with Dannielle Carter, Chloe Kelly and Dominique Janssen also getting their names on the scoresheet.

Reading are the only WSL 2 side in the quarter-finals, following their 3-1 win over Watford, and Bristol Academy qualified this afternoon as one of the highest third-placed teams, despite losing 2-0 to Birmingham City on Saturday.

Doncaster, who beat Sunderland 3-2, were the third-placed side who missed out on goal difference.

And Everton and Aston Villa ensured they didn’t finish their Continental Cup campaign winless, with a 2-0 victory over Durham and a 3-1 success over Oxford United respectively.

The eight teams in the quarter-finals are: Arsenal, Birmingham City, Bristol Academy, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Notts County and Reading.
