Notts County Ladies have signed a trio of experienced players as they strengthen their had ahead of the start of the WSL season.

England and Great Britain utility player Dunia Susi joins Rick Passmoor’s side after two years at Chelsea, while 102 cap left-back Rachel Unitt arrives from Birmingham City.

Katie Holtham, meanwhile, links up with Passmoor for the second time in the city of her birth.

Dunia Susi, Katie Holtham and Rachel Unitt have signed for Notts County Ladies.

The trio have all signed for Notts County this season.

A former England youth international and sometime senior squad member, also played for Chelsea last season after spending time in the USA with Buffalo Rush and in Australia with Perth Glory.

County’s chief executive Luke Negus-Hill said of the signings: “It’s another fantastic three signings for the football club.

“All three have great experience in this league and all have been involved internationally with England at some level, which shows the skill and talent of the players we are bringing to this club. “It further shows our ambition and desire to achieve.”

Passmoor believes Susi’s arrival will prove to be a watershed in the 26-year-old’s career.

“Dunia’s versatility as a footballer is a very valuable asset for this football club and being able to bring her to train full-time means she is only going to improve as a footballer,” he said.

“It’s an exciting time for this football club, adding another international player, further shows our intent for this season coming and the seasons after that.”

And with Unitt’s experience at both domestic and international level, Passmoor is also looking forward to working with the defender.

Rachel Unitt

Unitt has over 100 caps for England.

“Rachel has played at the top level of women’s football for many years,” he added.

“She has constantly shown what she can achieve on the pitch so t’s great to have Rachel here at Notts County Ladies FC.”

Holtham admits the move to her hometown club represents something of a dream for her, especially after speaking to her former Leeds Ladies boss Passmoor about the future plans for Notts County.

She said: “After speaking to Rick and finding out about the future plans of the club and calibre of players he was signing I wanted to be a part of that.

“Secondly the location, being Nottingham born and bred having a team that will compete in the WSL 1 on my door step is a real bonus for me.

“The last time I played in Nottingham was for West Bridgford Colts and Notts County COE when I was 15 so it's nice to be back and have that local support again.

“I’m here to compete with the best and finish in the top 3 of WSL 1 and win a cup final, just like I did under Rick at Leeds.”
