Christian Walton called up to England Under-21s squad

Christian Walton was part of the England squad at 2015's Toulon Tournament

Goalkeeper Christian Walton has been called into the England Under-21 squad ahead of this month's games against Kazakhstan and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It follows the withdrawal through injury of Sunderland's Jordan Pickford from the party chosen for the Young Lions' final qualifiers for the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Walton who is currently on loan at Luton Town from Brighton & Hove Albion will join up with Aidy Boothroyd's Three Lions squad today.

England play away in Kazakhstan on Thursday knowing a win will secure automatic qualification for next summer's Euro Finals in Poland.

The U21s' final group game against Bosnia takes place at Walsall FC's Banks's Stadium on Tuesday 11 October (kick-off: 3pm) with general admission priced at just £1. Click here to purchase tickets.
