England Under-21s and Leicester City defender Liam Moore has had a shorter break than the rest of his team-mates, but is now back and ready for a crack at the Premier League.

Moore was an almost ever-present last season as the Foxes convincingly won the Championship title to secure promotion and a return to the top flight.

And he then linked up with Gareth Southgate’s squad for their final Euro qualifier of the season in Wales before heading to the Toulon Tournament in France to complete a busy campaign.

Moore was a regular in Leicester's Championship-winning side last season

"I finished last season quite late and had two to three weeks less than the rest of the lads," said the 21-year-old.

"But it's always good to pull on your country's shirt and compete in a decent tournament."

Nigel Pearson’s squad are currently one of several top flight clubs to have chosen Austria as their base for training and it’s been an intense start as City's players are already focusing on their opening match with Everton according to Moore.

"All of the boys are trying to make their stamp now and get in the gaffer's thoughts for that first game of the season," he told Leicester City Player.

"It's still a while away, but whatever you can do now can only help."

Moore has also committed his future to his hometown club, by signing a new three year contract at the King Power Stadium this week before heading out to Austria.

And with that new deal coinciding with the club’s first return to the top flight in a decade, Moore is keen to make the most of it over the next few years.

"I've been trying to sort it out now for a while, so I'm happy to finally get it done and focus on this year which is massive for us in the Premier League," he added.

"It's probably the best time for me to sign a new contract with the club and hopefully all three years are going to be in the Premier League."
