Whilst Jonathan Bond’s England Under-21 appearances in 2014 were limited to two appearances, his importance in the squad remains high.
As the back-up to goalkeeper and captain Jack Butland, Bond has provided valuable competition throughout the year and impressed when called upon.
He played in the 3-0 win over Moldova in September and produced a collection of saves there before featuring in the game against France in November, where he was unfortunate to be on the losing side by 3-2.
And Bond is constantly working at his game on a domestic level too, training and learning from former Brazil international Heurelho Gomes at Watford.
