John Peacock says week has been 'invaluable' for his U17s
John Peacock says he was pleased with his England U17 side’s work last week – but they still have a lot of hard work ahead.

The Young Lions finished second in The FA International Tournament to Portugal, but finished strongly on Sunday with a 4-3 win over Italy.

“There’s no doubt we have some talented young players here, all of them are very happy with a football,” the two-time European U17 Championship winning coach told TheFA.com.

“In terms of our possession, from back to front, it was of a very high order. They have the makings of a decent team.

“But a decent team that wants to go on to bigger and better things need to do a bit more when we haven’t got the ball.”

He added: “It’s been a great week. I’ve been delighted with their work and they’ve taken on board a lot of things we’ve said. It’s been invaluable.”
