Goals keep flowing in The FA Youth Cup early rounds

There were a number of FA Youth Cup ties on Thursday evening
Joe Hankins bagged a hat-trick as AFC Dunstable were convincing 7-0 winners at St Neots Town in their FA Youth Cup second round qualifying encounter.

Alex Beasley broke the deadlock for the visitors, before Hankins opened his account for the evening.

Sam Slatter, Arel Amu and Jake Kissedu were all on target too, before Hankins took home the match ball.

Ashley Leather struck twice as Altrincham came from behind to beat Workington AFC 4-2.

Ellis Short had put Workington ahead, but Rhain Davis levelled from the penalty spot, before Leather struck twice and Dominic O’Gara climbed off the bench to ensure Altrincham’s progress.

Guiseley AFC were 2-1 winners at Handsworth Parramore, with Scott Smith and Harry Bissett cancelling out Theo Wilson’s goal.

Kladju Cani, Tarik Ibrahim and Ade Batula all found the net in Dulwich Hamlet’s 4-2 win by the coast at Margate.

A late Harry Wakefield penalty saw Basford United beat Mickleover Sports 3-2 after extra time to advance.

Akim Akinbinu bagged a brace as St Albans City won 4-0 at Northwood, with Callum Clifford and Mayowa Ayankaya also registering.

Dexter Walters struck twice and Thomas McGiluary added another as Romulus inflict a 3-0 away defeat on Pilkington XXX.

Two goals apiece from Lewis Rivetts and James Cooper helped Dereham Town to an 8-2 win over Wroxham.

Metropolitan Police marched on with a 3-0 defeat of Knaphill, Josh Greenleaf netting twice, before Ethan Chislett’s late third.

Kidlington fought back from a goal down to beat Harrow Borough 4-1, with Denilson scoring twice, either side of strikes from Callum Harvey and Maxwell Jones.

After 120 minutes of play could not separate Needham Market and AFC Sudbury, the home side eventually triumphed 3-1 in a penalty shootout.

And there was an astonishing game in Essex that also was decided on spot-kicks. Barking and Thurrock were locked at 5-5 after an astonishing 120 minutes. But it was the Blues who eventually won 5-4 in the shootout.

Elsewhere, Barton Rovers fought back from two goals down to beat Peterborough Northern Star 3-2, Grays Athletic lost 2-0 at AFC Hornchurch, Andover Town won 3-1 at Ascot United and Cambridge City defeated Norwich United by the same score.
