Toyosi Olusanya nets brace as Wimbledon progress

Friday 27 Nov 2015

Toyosi Olusanya scored both of AFC Wimbledon goals in their 2-0 win over Ebbsfleet United to book an FA Youth Cup third round tie with Watford.

Mark Robinson’s side impressed at the Cherry Red Records Stadium and Olusanya could have had more than the goals he scored in either half.

Olusanya had already seen a chip saved by Ebbsfleet goalkeeper Rhys Hughes early on by the time he opened the scoring on 11 minutes.

The forward’s neat control resulted in Charlie Stewart bringing him down in the penalty area and he dusted himself off to smash the ball straight down the middle of the goal from the spot.

Olusanya then hit the post as the Dons’ dominance continued, with Tino Carpene forcing a save and Alfie Egan firing over at the second attempt.

Dan Ano struck the bar towards the end of the second half but Ebbsfleet went into the break only a goal behind and could have been level after Jeffrey Nguede was denied by Will Mannion and then had a goal ruled out for offside shortly before the interval.

Ebbsfleet did pose more problems in the second half but the Dons defended well and made sure of the victory in the final minute when Olusanya turned well in the penalty area and finished with aplomb.
